Erkan Aki at Art on Ice in St. Moritz on Friday 17 February

Art on Ice St. Moritz Art on Ice St. Moritz 2012 invites you to a world premiere on Friday 17 February. Sarah Meier, Stéphane Lambiel and many more of the world’s top figure skaters will be skating, jumping and dancing to opera’s most beautiful arias. The ambiance at A NIGHT AT THE OPERA will surely be unique: Art on Ice St. Moritz takes place at night and in the open air on the frozen Lake St. Moritz – under the starry sky of the Engadine valley, surrounded by the majestic mountains of Graubünden.

Art on Ice St. Moritz 2012 is not only a world premiere; A NIGHT AT THE OPERA is an extraordinary challenge for all of the performers in view of the surroundings. With bitter cold sub-zero temperatures of minus 20 C°, skating and singing at world-class standards requires an exceptional level of physical ability.

The star on the stage at A NIGHT AT THE OPERA is Erkan Aki. The 42-year-old Swiss from Sursee is considered one of the top tenors around. Sopranos Anna Aki, Erkan’s spouse, and Olga Kindler will also be performing alongside Erkan Aki.

After the ice skating gala, a warming cocktail will be offered in the heated VIP tent, followed by a delicious dinner before the evening continues with crossover music performed by Erkan Aki and a DJ to conclude the party.
